Federal Funding for Arts Education through the U.S. Department of Education

Arts Presenters is working in coalition with other national arts advocates to seek funding for the Arts in Education programs at the Department of Education. This program provides support for the development of arts education programs, professional development for arts educators and ongoing arts education initiatives at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and VSA arts.

Arts in Education funds provide important support for the development, documentation, evaluation and dissemination of model projects that effectively strengthen and integrate arts curriculum in elementary and middle schools. Learning in the arts nurtures a motivation to learn, including active engagement, disciplined and sustained attention, persistence, and increased attendance and educational aspirations. Arts Presenters believes that these programs are essential for adult and youth education and the growth of American communities.
