Arts Presenters announces program highlights for the 2010 APAP Conference NYC, taking place from January 8-12 at the New York Hilton. In unveiling this year's conference theme, "Risk. Opportunity. Now." we take a look at the kinds of risks that have been integral to making and presenting the performing arts, while exploring the risks that lie ahead in creating new opportunities for the industry. The 2010 APAP Conference NYC is the premier global arts marketplace and network for the performing arts industry and expects to convene 4,000 conference attendees from all over the country and around the world, over 400 exhibitors and showcase over 1,000 performances at this year's conference.
03/17/09: Arts Presenters Announces 2010 Creative Campus Innovations Grants to Colleges and Universities
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters) announces the second year of the Creative Campus Innovations Grant program, calling for grant application submissions from higher education institutions interested in building interdisciplinary cross-campus collaborations. Funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, this grant program supports innovative partnerships to integrate the work of arts presenters across the campus, including the academic curriculum, and within the surrounding community.
01/09/09: Annual Awards Ceremony Celebrates Five Years of Partnership with MetLife Foundation
On January 12, The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters), the national service organization for performing arts presenting, will honor world-renowned opera singer Jessye Norman with the Award of Merit for Achievement in the Performing Arts during their annual APAP Conference NYC Awards Ceremony. Every year, the awards ceremony recognizes artists, arts leaders and organizations that have a distinguished record of service to the field of performing arts as well as contributing to defining or redefining an art form for contemporary audiences.
01/06/09: Arts Presenters Announces 52nd Annual Members Conference "Conscious Connections" to Focus on the Economy and the Arts
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) presents its 52nd Annual Members Conference in New York City from January 9-13, 2009 at the New York Hilton. The APAP Conference 2009 NYC, themed "Conscious Connections," will focus on how the arts community can achieve sustainability and move forward in this economic downturn, while recognizing the arts industry as an integral component for improving our nation's economy and celebrating the values and vision the industry shares in presenting the performing arts in America and abroad. As the world's largest showcase and marketplace for presenting artists, the 2009 APAP Conference NYC will be attended by more than 4,000 individuals from all 50 states and more than 25 different countries who work in the performing arts.
03/21/08: Arts Presenters Awards $425,000 to support Ensemble Theatre
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters) recently awarded grants totaling $425,000 to 14 ensemble theaters and their producing and presenting partners. The Ensemble Theatre Collaborations projects are supported by grants from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF) and the Ford Foundation. The Ensemble Theatre Collaborations projects propel the creation, production and presentation of leading ensemble theater work in the country.
12/31/07: Arts Presenters Announces 51st Annual Members Conference Focused on the Future of the Performing Arts Globally
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters) announced the details of its 51st Annual Members Conference, which will take place in New York City January 11 - 15, 2008. The Conference, themed "Presenting America: New Ground," will be attended by over 4,000 individuals from all 50 states and more than 25 different countries who work in the performing arts.
12/28/07: Arts Presenters Awarded $1.12 Million Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Grant
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters has received s $1.12 million grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF) as part of its Core Support Grants for National Organizations initiative. The grant will provide general operating support as well as build cash reserves for Arts Presenters over a four-year period.
4/10/07: Arts Presenters Announces Creative Campus Innovations Program Grantees
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters) has awarded eight grants totaling $1 million to colleges and universities for strengthening the performing arts on campuses and in the academy through the Creative Campus Innovations Grant Program.
1/23/07: Arts Presenters/MetLife Foundation Awards for Arts Access Announced at 50th Annual Members Conference
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters) and MetLife Foundation honored leaders in the performing arts who demonstrate a culture of accessibility and inclusion yesterday at the 50th Annual Members Conference Awards Ceremony. The awards were given out to Mixed Blood Theatre Company in Minneapolis, MN and University Musical Society (UMS) in Ann Arbor, MI. Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, founder of Urban Bush Woman, was the Master of Ceremonies.
1/23/07: Arts Presenters 50th Annual Members Conference Comes to a Close with Powerful Address by Anna Deavere Smith and Draws Largest Attendance Ever
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters) 50th Annual Members Conference concluded today. This was the largest and most successful Conference to date, drawing over 4,400 delegates from 28 countries. With standing room only, Anna Deavere Smith topped off the 5-day event with a powerful and poignant address concerning the need to cross boundaries and embrace differences.
